Wow….what a year this has been!
Just as we got things underway, we were stopped in our tracks and had to put the season on hold. We did manage to host a very successful Euchre night and we applied for and were accepted into a fundraising program with Bingo World and Gaming Centre in Newmarket. Even though we have not been allowed to fulfil our volunteer time slots at the gaming centre as of yet, we’ve gratefully received a couple payments from the brief time they were allowed to open, for the electronic gaming tables only. Hopefully in the coming year, they will be able to re-open to full capacity and we can continue with this fundraising ef-fort. As part of the conditions of our permit, we are mandated to promote Bingo World to our membership and encourage you to frequent the centre. Monies raised from our participation will go towards purchasing new equipment, facility rentals and umpire fees.
In light of the extenuating circumstances of the pandemic and the cancellation of the 2020 season, the current executive has agreed to stay on for the 2021 season. In the event that a position becomes va-cant, we will appoint someone to fill that spot, as per our constitution. Zoom meetings may become the ‘norm’ for a little while, until we are allowed to meet in person.
On behalf of the entire executive, I want to wish you and your families a very special, happy and healthy holiday season. Wear your mask, sanitize your hands and stay safe so that we will all be able to meet on the diamonds in 2021.

As many of you know, my husband, Coach Scott. was diagnosed with glioblastoma (brain cancer) earlier this summer. On September 10th he suffered from complications of the disease and passed away much too soon.
I wanted to thank the club for the lovely edible arrangement & gift card that he got to enjoy while undergoing treatments and to all the members who sent cards, food, mes-sages, made donations in his name and have sent loving thoughts to myself and our kids after he passed. He loved his time on the diamonds and especially enjoyed coaching your kids. We appreciate every special gesture made and know he will be watching over us when we return to the diamonds.

Corinne, President LSMSA
